Artist Statement:
Although the images seen in my work as a whole may be of a darker nature, they come from a place of hope in my heart. With my painting, I try to focus on themes involving the suffering in our flaws that humanity manifests. Themes of depression, addiction, self destruction and blind ignorance to the things that can become our undoing. While looking at the monsters I create I want the viewer to see some of their own being reflected back at them. I hope to trigger an uneasiness that may hopefully lead to some questioning about our existence. And if I am successful in that task, a further wanting to break off from our daily tragedy's might arise. In these times now more than ever we must rise above and learn to take care of each other and ourselves.

Some of my work, of course, is all just in good fun. With colour and design and my own styling sometimes I just want to make weird looking stuff for people to enjoy. Life without the strange and bizarre is simply a life I wouldn't enjoy.
